Basketball Game Preview: Haltom Buffalos vs. Lamar Vikings

The Haltom Buffalos will face off against the Lamar Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Haltom strolled past Arlington with points to spare, taking the game 45-31.

Meanwhile, Lamar hadn't done well against Martin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lamar was the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over Martin. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lamar's win came from a few key players Haltom will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Fennix Roberts, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Haltom, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-16.

Haltom came up short against Lamar in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 63-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Roberts, who went 11 of 20 on her way to 23 points and five steals.
