Softball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Leroy Greene Academy last Tuesday, Foothill came back down to earth. The Foothill Mustangs lost 17-7 to the Leroy Greene Academy Lions on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 36-30.

Ariana James made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mercede Averett, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Leroy Greene Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Coming up, Foothill will challenge San Juan at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they will square off against Encina at 4:00 p.m. on March 12th. One thing working in Leroy Greene Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
