Softball Recap: Mount Dora Christian Academy's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mount Dora Christian Academy dropped their record down to 18-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They lost 11-4 to the Webster Schroeder Warriors. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lily Bryant made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

As for Webster Schroeder, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Webster Schroeder's side, Liana DeValder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. DeValder has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amber Kohlmeier, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinsley Keil was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Mount Dora Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 6-2 win against The First Academy on the 21st. As for Webster Schroeder, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-4 victory against Audubon on the 21st.
