Basketball Recap: Jersey Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Aiden Kendall and Jaxon Brunaugh

Jersey lost against Triad back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jersey Panthers fell 57-50 to the Triad Knights. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Knights are ranked 39th).

Despite the defeat, Jersey had strong showings from Jaxon Brunaugh, who posted 18 points and five rebounds, and Aiden Kendall, who scored 11 points and seven boards. That's the most boards Kendall has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was John Paul Vogel, who had six points.

Jersey's loss dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Triad, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Jersey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-34 defeat against Highland on the 26th. As for Triad, they have also already played their next match, a 47-31 victory against Cahokia on the 26th.
