Soccer Game Preview: Saluda vs. Batesburg-Leesville

The Saluda Tigers will challenge the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saluda will be strutting in after a victory while Batesburg-Leesville will be coming in after a defeat.

Saluda took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Ninety Six, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers skirted past the Wildcats 3-2. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but Saluda were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Horse Creek Academy.

Madison Herbert wasn't going to let the Stallions walk away unscathed as she scored both of Batesburg-Leesville's goals, bringing her season total up to four goals.

Saluda is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six contests. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Everything went Saluda's way against Batesburg-Leesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Saluda made off with a 5-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
