Baseball Recap: Avonworth Takes a Loss

The Avonworth Antelopes didn't have quite enough to beat the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles on Saturday and fell 6-5.

Carson Franc was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Rowe, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Avonworth now has a losing record of 0-1-1. As for Greene County Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Avonworth will head out to square off against Stagg at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Greene County Tech, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Greene County Tech Golden Eagles duke it out with Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
