Basketball Game Preview: Alief Elsik Rams vs. Alief Hastings Bears

Alief Elsik hasn't had much luck against Alief Hastings recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Alief Elsik Rams will host the Alief Hastings Bears at 7:00 p.m.

Alief Elsik is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since November 14, 2024 on Friday. They lost 65-42 to Alief Taylor. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Lions are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Alief Hastings waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 49-41 win over the Longhorns.

Alief Hastings has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Alief Elsik, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-13.

Alief Elsik came up short against Alief Hastings in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 50-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Alief Hastings' Amyah Weathersby, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 23 rebounds.
