Baseball Recap: Alvarado Comes Up Short

Alvarado and Panther Creek squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Alvarado had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Alvarado and nudges their season record down to 16-11. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Panther Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-4 record this season.

Alvarado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Panther Creek, they will take on Pleasant Grove on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.2, the Hawks 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
