Basketball Recap: Bradford Takes a Loss

Bradford has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 65-52 to the Newberry Panthers on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-46 last Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newberry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandy Whitfield, who went 6 for 13 en route to 24 points and four steals. The match was Whitfield's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Jada Brown was another key player, going 8 of 13 on her way to 19 points.

Bradford's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Newberry, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Bradford has already played their next contest (against Williston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Newberry Panthers challenge the Buchholz Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
