Softball Game Preview: New Richmond Tigers vs. Hudson Raiders

For the second straight game, New Richmond will face off against Hudson. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Richmond is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

New Richmond proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Hudson 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since May 30, 2024.

Lauren Raleigh made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brier Blietz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. GingerAnn Lucas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for New Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
