Basketball Recap: Xayden Watson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Christian over Burlington Christian Academy

Trinity Christian came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Burlington Christian Academy Royals by a score of 68-66 on Saturday. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Trinity Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xayden Watson, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 25 points along with six assists and five steals. Watson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Logan Stafford was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 21 points and three steals.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Burlington Christian Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Trinity Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-47 win against Oak City Prep on the 20th. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they will take on NC H on Friday.
