Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Oldenburg Academy Twisters

The Centerville Bulldogs will head out to take on the Oldenburg Academy Twisters at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Centerville fell victim to Winchester Community and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Golden Falcons.

Meanwhile, Oldenburg Academy started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Hauser. They fell just short of the Jets by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Jacob Stenger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zach Hoff was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one run. Juston Dietz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Centerville dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Oldenburg Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Centerville beat Oldenburg Academy 8-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
