Baseball Recap: Medfield Takes a Loss

Medfield extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-6 in the process. They lost 16-10 to the Dedham Marauders. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Marauders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Charlie Duggan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Medfield: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Nathan Bills also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Dedham, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games.

On Dedham's side, John Maclean tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julian Larrabbee, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Cam Galvin was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Medfield will square off against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dedham, they will face off against Medway at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Marauders surely won't give up without a fight.
