Baseball Recap: Aurora Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Aurora Central Catholic fell victim to Marmion and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Cadets: they've now lost six in a row.

Cayden Lohrey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Aurora Central Catholic is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

Aurora Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Marmion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aurora Central Catholic will host Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marmion, they will welcome IC Catholic Prep at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
