Basketball Recap: Mary Katelyn Hite's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kenston Forest over Brunswick Academy

If Kenston Forest was riding high fresh off their 45-24 takedown of Fuqua back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kenston Forest Kavaliers came up short against the Brunswick Academy Vikings on Friday, falling 44-24. The game marked the Kavaliers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kenston Forest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mary Katelyn Hite, who posted four points and six steals. Hite is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hartly Andrews, who had seven points and nine rebounds.

Kenston Forest's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Brunswick Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenston Forest will welcome Tidewater Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brunswick Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
