Baseball Recap: Gateway Regional Comes Up Short

If Gateway Regional was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Putnam Vo-Tech last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators lost 24-1 to the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers on Wednesday.

Gateway Regional has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 19-0.

Coming up, Gateway Regional will head out on the road to challenge Chicopee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pioneer Valley Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
