Baseball Recap: Joel Barlow Triumphs

Joel Barlow's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Immaculate Mustangs get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jimmy Kennedy made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Drew Gutowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Joel Barlow: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Brennan Maryott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Joel Barlow's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Immaculate, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Joel Barlow will host Brookfield at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Immaculate, they will square off against New Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
