Basketball Game Preview: Granby Comets vs. Manor Mustangs

Granby is 0-10 against Manor since February of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Granby Comets will challenge the Manor Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Granby will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Lake Taylor, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Granby secured a 54-50 W over Lake Taylor on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Meanwhile, Manor waltzed into their contest last Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over the Titans. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Titans are ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manor's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Granby, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Granby took a serious blow against Manor in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 93-12. Can Granby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
