Football Recap: Wellington Skates Past Berthoud with Ease + How To Watch

Wellington never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Berthoud Spartans 54-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 54 points or more this season.

Wellington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayton Meglen, who rushed for 83 yards and two scores, and also caught one TD. Cyle Kisner was in the mix too, providing the Eagles with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wellington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 417 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Wellington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Owen Gabbert, Kasen Brown, and Tyler Shaffer picked up one apiece.

The victory keeps Wellington at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average this season. As for Berthoud, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Wellington will head out on the road to square off against University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berthoud, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
