Basketball Preview: Elsie Allen Lobos vs. Ukiah Wildcats
Elsie Allen is 1-9 against the Wildcats since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Elsie Allen Lobos will head out on the road to square off against the Ukiah Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Elsie Allen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 801st, while the Wildcats are ranked 173rd).
Last Saturday, Elsie Allen came up short against the Mustangs and fell 44-31.
Meanwhile, Ukiah scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 92-30 victory over Healdsburg. Winning may never get old, but Ukiah sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
It was another big night for Tony Zacarias, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Omaurie Phillips-Porter, who scored eight points along with six assists and five steals.
Elsie Allen's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Ukiah, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Elsie Allen lost to the Wildcats on the road by a decisive 47-32 margin in their previous matchup on Monday. Can Elsie Allen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
