Basketball Recap: Las Plumas Skates Past Live Oak with Ease

Las Plumas was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Live Oak on Tuesday. The Las Plumas Thunderbirds claimed a resounding 70-39 win over the Live Oak Lions. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-10.

Las Plumas was led to victory by Noeh Morrison and T.J. Thompson. Morrison went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points and five boards, while Thompson went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Morrison is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Frankie Causey, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points.

With the victory, Las Plumas broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-8. As for Live Oak, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Las Plumas will head out to challenge Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Las Plumas is facing Oroville at the right time seeing as Oroville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Live Oak, they will challenge Gridley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gridley will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Live Oak surely won't give up without a fight.
