Baseball Recap: Plainedge Gets the Win

Plainedge's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They didn't even let the Wantagh Warriors on the board, marking the Red Devils' second-straight 6-0 shutout. Fans of the Red Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Wantagh's batters probably weren't too happy with Jaxson Torres, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up three walks).

On the hitting side, Taylor Nitsch was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Colon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Plainedge's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Wantagh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4-1.

Plainedge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wantagh, they will challenge Lynbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
