Basketball Recap: Okawville Comes Up Short

Okawville lost against Greenville back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Okawville Rockets fell to the Greenville Comets 51-47. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Comets are ranked 202nd).

Okawville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Greenville, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Okawville will head out to face off against Sparta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sparta's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Greenville, they will be home for the holidays to greet Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is facing Southwestern at the right time seeing as Southwestern is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
