Basketball Recap: White Academy Snaps 17-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White Academy). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-32 win over the Clinch Wildcats on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading White Academy to victory were Gracie Blair and Macy England. Blair posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while England put up 11 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. Those 13 points gave Blair a new career-high.

White Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 0 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 6.8.

White Academy's win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15. As for Clinch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

White Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clinch, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Greene at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th.
