Basketball Recap: Lowry Comes Up Short

Lowry suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2024 on Friday. They lost 64-44 to the Fernley Vaqueros. The Buckaroos have struggled against the Vaqueros recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Sheldon Jacobson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fernley, going 11 of 15 on his way to 26 points along with seven boards and six steals. Jacobson has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Dunagan-Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards.

Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Fernley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Lowry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-63 victory against Churchill County on the 28th. As for Fernley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-39 win against Dayton on the 28th.
