Basketball Recap: Shenango Falls Short of Chartiers-Houston in the Playoffs

Shenango and Chartiers-Houston squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Shenango had to settle for second. They came up short against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers, falling 55-35. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Chartiers-Houston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathan Gregory, who posted 27 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Justus Buckingham was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 20 points.

Shenango now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Chartiers-Houston, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Shenango does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chartiers-Houston, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-39 loss against Sewickley Academy on the 20th.
