Football Recap: Madison-Ridgeland Academy's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Madison-Ridgeland Academy extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They walked away with a 35-24 win over the Jackson Academy Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Samuel Stockett produced another solid performance throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Colson O'Cain also helped with two TDs in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Madison-Ridgeland Academy's defense and their six sacks. Curtis Gentry was especially locked on to Jackson Academy's QB and sacked him twice. Gentry also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson Academy fell to 4-1. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jackson Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaric Beasley, who gained 126 total yards and a touchdown, and Josef Walker, who threw for 227 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison-Ridgeland Academy will head out to take on Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Magnolia Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Chiefs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
