Soccer Game Preview: Satsuma vs. Houston Academy

The Satsuma Gators will head out to face off against the Houston Academy Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Satsuma is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Thursday, they were much more limited against Mary G. Montgomery on Monday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Gators couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Houston Academy hadn't done well against Eufaula recently (they were 0-3 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Houston Academy was the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Eufaula. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

Andrew Gil and Nate Selig scored all four of Houston Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Houston Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Satsuma, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
