Basketball Recap: Toombs County Takes a Loss

Toombs County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the St. Vincent's Saints at home by a 47-32 margin. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Toombs County lost, don't look at Brinley Miller. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Makayla Brewton was another key player, putting up four points along with nine boards and three steals.

Toombs County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. Vincent's, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5.

When Toombs County and St. Vincent's next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Toombs County will try to stop Tattnall County's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, St. Vincent's will take on Savannah Country Day and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
