Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dayton on Monday, Calvary Christian came back down to earth. The Cougars fell 6-3 to the Holy Cross Indians on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Calvary Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Ruwe, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Luke Corbin was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Holy Cross, they pushed their record up to 10-16 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Calvary Christian will host Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Holy Cross, they will venture away from home to take on Campbell County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Camels will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
