Football Recap: Shoemaker's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Shoemaker won the last time they faced University and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wolves enjoyed a cozy 47-28 victory over the Trojans. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Trojans are ranked 300th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shoemaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from De'Mani Dail-Addison, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards. Willie Thomas helped out on the ground, rushing for 137 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shoemaker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

University's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was London Smith, who picked up 148 receiving yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of Savoy Nichols, who threw for 275 yards and one TD.

The win keeps Shoemaker at an undefeated 4-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.8 points this season. As for University, their record is now 2-2.

Shoemaker wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 31-28 win against Temple on the 26th. As for University, they have also already played their next game, a 35-28 loss against Lampasas on the 26th.
