Football Game Preview: East Central Hornets vs. Northeast Jones Tigers + How To Watch

The East Central Hornets will head out to square off against the Northeast Jones Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

East Central is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Purvis on Friday. The Hornets took a 26-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddox Dunn put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 195 yards while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 125 yards on five of 19 attempts. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 131 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Northeast Jones didn't have quite enough to beat Vancleave on Friday and fell 13-10. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northeast Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

East Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Northeast Jones in their previous matchup back in November of 2015, sneaking past 32-30. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Kd Newell, who rushed for 113 yards and two TDs.
