Basketball Game Preview: Pinecrest Patriots vs. South Mecklenburg Sabres + Official Tickets

The Pinecrest Patriots will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the South Mecklenburg Sabres at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pinecrest is leaving town to face South Mecklenburg after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Patriots fell 68-60 to T.W. Andrews on Friday.

Meanwhile, South Mecklenburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-50 to East Mecklenburg.

Pinecrest will need to focus on slowing down Jim Gatehouse, one of several South Mecklenburg players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Parker, who had eight points.

Pinecrest skirted past South Mecklenburg 80-77 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gatehouse, who scored 29 points and four blocks.
