Basketball Recap: Hill-McCloy Takes a Loss

Hill-McCloy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 52-18 loss at the hands of the Durand Railroaders. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Samantha Leydig had an outrageously good game for Durand as she went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points along with six boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Leydig is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Raine Smith, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Hill-McCloy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Durand, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Hill-McCloy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chesaning at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Durand also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Byron at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
