Soccer Game Preview: Woodmont vs. Greenville

The Woodmont Wildcats will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Greenville Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Woodmont will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Woodmont gave up the first goal last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Woodmont who was credited with the victory. Woodmont got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Wren's two. The win was all the more spectacular given Woodmont's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Wren are ranked 20th).

Woodmont's one-goal win came courtesy of Will Parker, who's now up to five this season.

On Friday, Greenville didn't have quite enough to beat J.L. Mann and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Greenville in their meetings with J.L. Mann: they've now lost five in a row.

Woodmont now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
