Softball Recap: Jackson County Takes a Loss

Jackson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pickett County Bobcats. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lily Holloway stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Robinson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4.

Jackson County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Jackson County will host Macon County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Macon County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Jackson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
