Texas Wind will challenge the Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Texas Wind turned things around against Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization on Friday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Eagles.
Jon Alexander made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Montgomery, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Evan Putman was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Texas Wind kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Non Varsity Opponent 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since February 1st.
Like Texas Wind, Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool also got a great game from a two-way player: Lucas Grow. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Grow has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Cooper Stone was a standout: he scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Colton Shockey, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Texas Wind, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13-1.
