Volleyball Recap: Mesa Verde Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mesa Verde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Woodland Christian Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-8, 25-5.

Woodland Christian was led to victory by Bailee Broward and Mariah Johnson. Broward hit 83.3% for five kills and 12 aces and three digs, while Johnson had three digs and three aces. Those 12 aces gave Broward a new career-high.

Mesa Verde's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Woodland Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mesa Verde will venture away from home to challenge Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodland Christian, they will head out to take on Colusa at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
