Baseball Game Preview: Portage Central Mustangs vs. Harper Creek Beavers

For the second straight game, Portage Central will face off against Harper Creek. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Beavers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Portage Central easily dispatched Buchanan on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Mustangs fell just short of Harper Creek by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since May 10th.

Portage Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kai Torre, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Torre has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Brody Wallace was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Harper Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. As for Portage Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-20.
