Softball Recap: Franklin County Tech Eagles vs. Wahconah Regional Warriors

Franklin County Tech took care of business in their home opener on Monday (and then some). They put the hurt on the Wahconah Regional Warriors with a sharp 12-4 victory.

Hannah Gilbert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Gilbert was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Kylee Gamache and Kyra Goodell did most of the damage at the plate: Gamache scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Goodell scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Trudeau, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Franklin County Tech will head out on the road to take on Athol at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wahconah Regional, they will challenge Taconic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
