Softball Recap: Chandler Wolves vs. Marcos de Niza Padres
On Friday Chandler's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Marcos de Niza Padres 7-5. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Chandler got a great performance from Sarah Hartrumph as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Hartrumph a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Lily Kolsrud was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Summer Johnson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Chandler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games dating back to last season.
Chandler's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Marcos de Niza, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chandler will be taking part in a tournament against West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Marcos de Niza, they will be playing at home against Combs at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
