Basketball Game Preview: Dougherty Trojans vs. Eastside Eagles

The Dougherty Trojans will square off against the Eastside Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Dougherty will be strutting in after a win while Eastside will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Dougherty beat Mitchell County 78-68. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Dougherty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcus Heath, who posted 28 points. Another player making a difference was Mikel Roberts, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Eastside duked it out with Heritage on Saturday. The Eagles fell 47-40 to the Hawks.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dougherty, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
