Volleyball Recap: Twelve Bridges' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Twelve Bridges can now relate to. They fell just short of the Beyer Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Raging Rhinos' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Twelve Bridges took Beyer into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19, 16-14.

Beyer found their leader in sophomore Cruz Hibbard, who had 30 assists and five digs. Those 30 assists set a new season-high mark for Hibbard.

Twelve Bridges' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Beyer, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Twelve Bridges does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beyer, they will face off against Ripon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
