Baseball Recap: Westview Extends Winning Streak to Two

Westview won the last time they faced Oceanside and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolverines never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Tyler Bissessar tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Westview let Charles Jaskowiak and Ethan Holeman run wild. Jaskowiak got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Holeman went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Holeman a new career-high. Mahir Desai was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Westview's record now sits at 20-7. As for Oceanside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-18.

Coming up, Westview will be playing at home against Fallbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oceanside, they will head out to face off against Rancho Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Longhorns have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
