Basketball Game Preview: Valley Lutheran Flames vs. Hayden Lobos

The Valley Lutheran Flames will head out to square off against the Hayden Lobos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Lutheran's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Hayden's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Valley Lutheran was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Duncan. The Flames have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hayden suffered their closest loss since December 15, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of San Simon by a score of 31-28. The Lobos have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Hayden's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Valley Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Valley Lutheran didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Hayden when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Lutheran since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
