Volleyball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Takes Down Canyon Del Oro in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sunrise Mountain walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Canyon del Oro Dorados with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sunrise Mountain was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-10.

Brayden Case paced Sunrise Mountain's offense, picking up 11 kills. Case got some help from Dane Shepherd and his 25 assists. Case was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

Sunrise Mountain's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-14. As for Canyon del Oro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Sunrise Mountain nor Canyon del Oro have any future games scheduled.
