Recap: Naches Valley Rangers vs. Toppenish Wildcats
After a string of five wins, The Naches Valley Rangers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Toppenish. Naches Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Toppenish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Naches Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Thane Denny. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Toppenish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiyanno Zuniga, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown. Toppenish also got help from Jose Gatcia who showed off his sure hands for 125 receiving yards.
Naches Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Toppenish, the victory was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Naches Valley will be playing at home against La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Salle is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Toppenish, they will square off against Zillah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
