Basketball Recap: Kern Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Shiloh Galvan and Aiden Madden

Kern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Union Broncos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-40 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kern Valley had strong showings from Aiden Madden, who posted 14 points, and Shiloh Galvan, who scored 11 points and three steals. Joey Galvan was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Bishop Union, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will welcome Mammoth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Union, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frazier Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
