Brandon Wordard leads a balanced attack to beat Thomas Stone

Recap: Lanham Christian Lions vs. Thomas Stone Cougars

The Lanham Christian Lions entered their tilt with the Thomas Stone Cougars with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Everything went Lanham Christian's way against Thomas Stone on Thursday as Lanham Christian made off with a 87-65 victory. Lanham Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanham Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Wordard, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Diego Joy was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.

Despite the loss, Thomas Stone had strong showings from Jonas Agyeman, who scored 20 points along with five assists, and Ty Woodland, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Agyeman scored a full 30.8% of Thomas Stone's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Thames, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.

Lanham Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Thomas Stone, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Lanham Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against North Point at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th. North Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Lanham Christian is ranked 18th). Thomas Stone won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. West Springfield is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
