Volleyball Recap: Apollo Hawks vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions

The Apollo Hawks didn't have quite enough to beat the Shadow Ridge Stallions on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Apollo couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Shadow Ridge a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 29-31, 25-8, 22-25, 25-18, 15-9.

David Flores paced Apollo's offense, picking up 11 kills. Flores got some help from Nathaniel Baldonado and his 28 assists. Baldonado also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jacob Cherry, racking up three apiece.

Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Shadow Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17.

Apollo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Valley Vista on the 22nd. As for Shadow Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Perry on the 18th.
